What this Journey Looks Like

The ServiceNow & Jira Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, configuration, and selective development of the ServiceNow and Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) platforms. This role acts as the primary platform owner, ensuring both ecosystems are stable, well-governed, and continuously improved. The position emphasizes a configuration-first approach, while also delivering lightweight development, scripting, and integrations where required.

What You’ll Lead and Build

Platform Administration & Ownership

Administer and support ServiceNow and Jira platforms

Manage users, roles, groups, permissions, and access governance

Oversee platform health, upgrades, and release coordination

Maintain platform standards, naming conventions, and governance controls

Configuration & Enhancement Delivery

Configure forms, fields, workflows, and approval processes

Manage SLAs, notifications, queues, and assignment rules

Configure Jira workflows, boards, issue types, and permissions

Deliver enhancements through structured intake and release cycles

Light Development & Automation

Develop ServiceNow business rules, client scripts, and UI policies

Build Flow Designer automations and Jira automation rules

Perform minor scripting using JavaScript / GlideScript

Support API integrations using REST and webhooks

Troubleshoot automation and integration issues

ServiceNow Platform Support

Support ITSM modules (Incident, Problem, Change, Catalog, CMDB)

Maintain catalog items, forms, and knowledge articles

Assist with CMDB data quality initiatives

Provide L2/L3 support for platform issues

Jira & Confluence Administration

Administer Jira and Confluence workflows, permissions, and spaces

Build dashboards, filters, and reports

Support Agile delivery practices

Maintain Confluence documentation standards

User Support & Enablement

Act as primary contact for platform-related issues

Provide training and best practices guidance

Create and maintain documentation

Drive platform adoption and user experience improvements

Reporting & Insights

Develop dashboards for ITSM and Agile metrics

Ensure data accuracy and consistency

Provide insights to stakeholders

What You Bring to the Table

Required Qualifications

4–6+ years of experience administering ServiceNow and/or Jira

Strong understanding of ITSM / ITIL and Agile methodologies

Experience with configuration, automation, and basic scripting

Experience with REST APIs or webhooks

Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

ServiceNow CSA certification

Atlassian certifications

Experience with CMDB / CSDM

Exposure to Integration Hub or MID Server
